THE ‘JOURNEY OF DESTINY’ TAKES A NEW TURN...

They come one by one, oh so consistently!
Like waves hitting the shores, oh so constantly!
I am amazed how the bubbles vanish every time!
Coz all I do is flow like a fish in the Ocean of Love!

--- Johnny D ---
20th December 2012

The ‘Journey of Destiny’ takes a new turn as the year 2012 is all set to end... Just like my Sai Baba made me to shift to Vidarbha in 2010 April, once again the need of the hour was to find a job, to sustain my own existence. I owe this great gift to my TEN BEAUTIFUL ANGELS of the Third Year – June 2012 to May 2013...  Four of my Beautiful Angels unfortunately faced individual problems (I am extremely sorry for your sufferings), due to which they were not able to support and help me on a regular monthly basis. The crisis to sustain self without the Ten Beautiful Angels’ help and support was becoming difficult for me and to increase my crisis further more my laptop of 4 years started giving me trouble.

I was definitely in deep crisis because whatsoever little savings was left with me (never had a treasure), was soon exhausted to meet my monthly existence. I also had to buy a new Laptop and requested my friends to help me out. Here I wish to thank Shreyas Talpade and his wife Deepti Talpade for being really sweet to send me some more help. As always in every crisis, Sai Baba has been very kind to send me Beautiful Angels... they arrived and in the first week of October, I bought the Laptop. The crisis deepened and all the while I remembered my Maths Teacher’s words – “Every Problem has a Solution!” Solutions are done in simple steps to solve the problem.

The simple steps of solution to solve my problem was to find a new job, so while I will work to earn enough to take care of my little monthly expenses, repay my friends’ help, save a little for self for my future and accumulate some more funds for the affected farmers’ families I am supporting in Vidarbha. This way I will be able to support more children of affected families...

I did approach a big farmer in Vidarbha for a job in his farm... fortunately he didn’t give me the job as destined. I have learned a great deal during my early struggle in Bombay in 1999 that “Every ‘NO’ leads you nearer to the ‘YES’!” From November 2012, I floated my resume, forwarded it to known friends in Bombay. Finally, a sweet angel came in rescue and helped me get the much required interview. And in the last week of November, I got the required call for the first interview on the 8th of December 2012. The interview went well and I was asked to develop a concept for a new magazine by the Managing Director of the Publication.

Meanwhile, the Trust’s 80G Certificate needed my presence in Wardha for the interview with the IT Commissioner on the 20th December 2012. Once again, I was in Wardha to complete the appointment. On the other hand, I got the call for the final interview in Bombay on the 22nd December. Deep down in my heart, I prayed to my Sai Baba to kindly help me so I can serve more affected families’ children in villages by earning more.

From the beginning of the ‘Journey of Destiny’ I have been writing that we, as human have no control of whatsoever – thoughts or action – in life. It is the Supreme Power, who controls everything, including what I am writing and what you are reading. HE connects all of us in HIS ‘Thread of Destiny’. We are all HIS creations!

On the 22nd December, the interview went well and the MD offered me the responsibility to head his New Magazine from the 1st of January 2013. I thanked him with gratitude for being the amazing angel to offer me the much needed job. As I was walking down the office, I thanked my Sai Baba for being so-so kind to help me as HE always do! Yes, I am just plain happy!

The simple steps of solution to solve my problem, was to find the job and Sai Baba has been too kind to lead me, where HE wants me to be. The crisis had, and has always been blessings in disguise. Yes, we humans always do panic during such times. However, this particular time, I didn’t panic and knew my Baba will show me the way to find the solution to lead me to a better place at the right moment. Now, it is the time to raise more funds with my own hard work to support more children of suicide farmers’ families.

I must really thank my TEN BEAUTIFUL ANGELS of the First, Second and Third Year for helping and supporting me selflessly, so I was able to put in my best of efforts on the real grounds. I also wish to thank all the friends – known and unknown, old and new – friends from all over the globe, friends who have guided me with great insights and ever encouraging words, prayers and blessings, love and affection – from the bottom of my heart.

Without money, one cannot help the affected families and my life changed ever since I thought to help some of the affected families... while I learned various invaluable lessons on the real grounds... the crisis surely has led the ‘Journey of Destiny’ to take a new turn for a better tomorrow.

Sai Baba bless all you kind souls always and forever, for being with me all through the ‘Journey of Destiny’...

The ‘Journey of Destiny’ continues...

GOVERNMENT MISLEADING THE NATION WHILE HELPING THE CORPORATE

Foodgrains Surplus is predicted by the Agriculture Minister...

Statistics are manipulated to show the figures...

Foodgrains worth crores are reported in the media to rot in the Open Storage Godowns of FCI...

Import of foodgrains continues to increase year after year...

Hunger still continues as ever... with percentage of the poor increasing year after year...

Fertile land is shrinking at an alarming pace allover the nation...

Farmers’ Community is losing numbers as many of them have either shifted to urban cities or else sold their land...

THINK ABOUT ALL THESE HEADLINES... and you will wonder, how the government of India is actually misleading the nation with statistical claims...

It is a well-known fact that Punjab & Haryana the Foodgrain Baskets of India has been facing low yield per acre because of various agriculture related problems, majorly because of heavy usage of Chemical Fertilizer, Pesticides & Insecticides... depleted groundwater has made farmers from Punjab to migrate in states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharastra and even in Africa... And, with millions of hectares of fertile land being acquired by the Government for SEZ, Thermal & Nuclear Power Projects, Industrial Zones, Educational Institutions, Essential Infrastructural Projects and not forgetting the Housing Projects, Commercial Property like Malls, Hotels etc... the total agricultural land is shrinking at an alarming pace.

So how can the foodgrains yield increase?

Statistics are often manipulated by various departments of the government... and this was confirmed by the then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee... So one wonders as to why the Government is misleading the nation while helping the corporate, all in the name of Economic Growth.

As per the Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, the insensitive Indian Government  allows foodgrains worth 58,000 crores to rot every year in FCI Open Storage Godowns... and these are highlighted only for a few days by the electronic media (obviously to divert the nation’s attention from serious political issues) and then... the nation’s government doesn’t even bother about such a huge quantity being allowed to waste under government machinery.

Needless to say, it is the well-laid plan of the government, so that the kith & kins of various political leaders, who own liquor distilleries, can buy the readymade material for making high-end liquor at the cheapest rate of Re. 0.60 per kilogram of rotten foodgrains... When the Supreme Court admonished the Nation’s Government about such a callous attitude and ordered to distribute the excess foodgrains to the hungry & poor... the Agriculture Minister said – ‘The Government is buying wheat @ Rs.15/- a kg and so cannot distribute it free.’ The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh even said – ‘Supreme Court cannot ask the Government about Policy Making and the SC should not interfere.’ The Government cannot distribute the excess foodgrains to hungry & the poor, but will allow it to rot, and sell it at a loss of Rs. 14.40/- per kg to liquor barons...

Callousness at its heights...What economic theory is this?

The poor tribal villagers of Tembhali in Maharastra satisfy their hunger eating Imli ka pata (Tamarind leaves) 20 to 25 days a month... and the nation’s Prime Minister doesn’t even bat his eyelid... instead goes on to give them UID...

If our nation, as claimed by the Agriculture Minister and the Prime Minister, is producing foodgrains in excess (in spite of less fertile land)... then why is the nation importing more GMO foodgrains from various countries and exporting our pure Organic foodgrains to other countries? India is the largest producer of pulses in the world, but the ironic fact is that we, as the nation also happens to be the largest importer of pulses from various countries producing GMO pulses in their industrial farming. These imported pulses are not labelled as GMO Products... and it is these GMO foodgrains, which are actually crippling the nation with Cancer, Diabetes, Neurological Disorder, creating high Mental Stress, Heart Problems, Kidney Problems and diseases that were unheard of a few decades ago.

With the rate of the pulses skyrocketing week after week, the poor has escaped the GMO foodgrains... as one can find it is the rich & the famous, who are more suffering from the dreaded disease of Cancer and other deadly diseases...all because of GMO foodgrains that our nation’s Government is importing from other countries. Prices of every foodgrains has been and is increasing at an alarming pace... one wonders how will the poor survive? I was shocked recently on my Bombay trip, to find the common man & poor’s delight the Vada-Pav selling @ Rs. 10/- .... two years ago, it was selling @ Rs. 6/-... it also shows that one who is savouring Vada-Pav in Bombay is actually not a poor man’s delight any more...

First the dal and now the Vada-Pav have been stolen from the poor man’s plate... sweets, fruits, milk, curd, vegetables are all out of the reach of the poor... so in what ways are the Government’s claims true that we are producing more foodgrains??? It is a common economic theory that when there is excess of any good, the rates fall... but, the corrupt governance under the corrupt economist Prime Minister has made everything costly and the escalating cost of food items are killing everybody, including the middle class... so the poor!!!

Well, who really cares for the Poor?

With fertile land shrinking at an alarming pace, how can the produce increase in totality?

What logic is this?

Farmers’ Community is also losing its population because initial investment of farming has increased multifolds – seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides, labour wages with uncertainty of nature’s fall (rain) – the farmers don’t get a good rate when the harvesting season arrives as traders’ lobby along with the Government Agencies manipulate to decrease the rates of the harvested crops... many farmers have shifted to urban cities shunning farming to survive... and there are many, who have sold their land either because they were acquired or by force by the State Government for various corporate projects.

FDI: THE DEMONIC MYTH THE SYSTEM IS CREATING

One of the first lessons in ECONOMICS I was taught along with many students in school was – Whenever a foreign company or a foreigner invest in other nation’s economy, the company or the individual will take away the Nation’s wealth to their / his Nation to benefit. Thereby, it will be the loss of the Nation whereas a foreign company / foreigner will benefit to increase their / his nation’s GDP / wealth.

I was also taught about the “Brain-Drain” and India as the nation has lost a great deal because talented intelligent Indian brains are serving the foreign countries more than they have bothered to serve their own country. Every now and then we hear or read that Indian doctors are doing great work in foreign countries, majority of the IT workers in the Silicon Valley in the US are Indians, Scientists, Engineers etc etc are gaining great recognitions abroad and we, as Indians are quick to shout aloud – ‘Sunita Williams is of Indian Origin; Such and Such Indians are part of the Curiosity’... well, the list will go on and on... How silly it is of us to be proud of someone else’s country’s progress and success to claim the credit?

Foreign countries have been very intelligent to offer citizenship of such talented brains... simultaneously to save their countries’ wealth and have the best brains to serve them. By offering their citizenship, they actually have restricted the Indians and other nationals to send money in their respective countries for the respective countries’ economy to benefit.

Our corrupt Prime Minister is an Economist... and I wonder how on the earth, he has forgotten these simple lessons of Economics? When a foreign company will invest $ 1 Billion, but obviously, they will take away $ 51 Billions of Indian money from our Economy to their Economy... it is not a rocket science or something really difficult to understand. And with the Economy of the foreign countries in doldrums, our Prime Minister is actually helping their Economy while selling our Motherland and Nation’s Wealth so that our Economy loses everything.

Ever since the Government announced about the FDI, I have been reading various views and opinions of various columnists and I am really surprised that no one has written about the simple Economic Theory... everyone has been speculating and hyping the issue that FDI will benefit the Nation... I wonder, how will the Nation benefit from FDI? FDI is the Demonic Myth, the System is creating like all other Myths... to benefit the Political Circle, Government Officials and the few Rich Corporate Companies to suck the last drop of blood of the billion plus population of the nation.

In the whole world, India as the country is perhaps the RICHEST COUNTRY, because:

We are the largest consumer of Gold in the World;
The highest number of SCAMS (More than 120 Scams that I counted in one week's time to finally give up making the list), the Manmohan Singh Government has given birth to, worth zillion & zillion of dollars in mere 7 years;
We have the largest deposits of Black Money in foreign banks (obviously, other countries are enjoying at our expense) as compared to any other nation in the World ;
We have the Largest Temple treasures in the World;

Just to name few of the realities of Indian Economy... so one wonders as to why and how the FDI can benefit our country on the whole? When we have so many billionaires in the nation, how come they cannot serve the Nation’s Economy to create job opportunities to benefit the countrymen, when these billionaires are investing in foreign shores to create job opportunities for them?

Over the past few years (10 to 12 years), we have seen the Mall Culture invading the Urban Cities of India... but, they are fast collapsing in cities like Bombay... Malls which opened with great fanfare in the early 2000, have shut shops... except the eateries in the Malls, none of the shops are really making money... almost all the foreign brands are selling thier products in descounts and Sales...Reid & Taylor is a passe brand, so is Scullers, Benetton etc etc...

I am more concerned about the Agriculture Sector... and I wonder how on the earth, the majority of marginal farmers will benefit from the FDI?

Will the foreign companies invest in Irrigation Infrastructure to benefit the farmers of the nation to complete the decades old projects at a faster pace?
Will the farmers get to buy cheaper seeds, fertilizers, pesticides because of FDI?
Will the farm labourers’ scarcity be solved by FDI?
Will the Wages of farm labourers increase because of FDI?
Will the FDI build storage godowns for FCI to store all the foodgrains that are being allowed to rot in the Open Air Storage (worth billions of rupee)?
Will the FDI solve the problems of the PAPs (Project Affected People) to give them maximum compensation?
Will the farmers get a higher MSP (Minimum Support Price) for their produce from the market because of FDI?

The ‘answer’ to all the above simple questions is the big “NO” ! In fact, the farmers of the nation will lose more fertile lands because of the FDI... they will lose more money because the FDI is going to squeeze all their hard earned money through various means and products... more cheap Chinese goods will flood the market... my friends in America say, “When you enter a Mall or Big Store Chain like Walmart... one can find 90 to 95 % of Chinese manufactured goods...”

Well, I am an ordinary Indian and I know for sure that FDI will take away my nation’s wealth to their respective countries. FDI will only benefit the Rich Corporate Companies, who will tie-up with foreign companies to further fill their coffers... FDI will benefit the corrupt politicians and government officials to fill their already filled coffers... instead of progressing as a nation, we are in fact going back in time, when the British Traders were welcomed by us... to rule us for 200 years... taking away all our Nation’s wealth and treasures...

No wonder, when a foreign lady is holding the reins of the nation, the Motherland will be bound to be sold to other countries...

Even the uneducated farmers whom I interacted with are much-much more intelligent than our Economist corrupt PM... they all say - "All our nation's money will go to foreign land..."

INDIANS SHOULD WAKE UP AND DEMAND FOR GMOs LABELLING IN THE NATION

India may not cultivate or grow GMOs Foodgrains, English vegetables or fruits, but they are as vulnerable as the Western counterparts, where GMOs is a way of life. No doubt, the multifold increase of Cancer cases and other GMOs’ related diseases in the country in recent years has made me to write this post. Are we Indians safe from GMOs Foodgrains, fruits or vegetables because we don’t grow them except Bt Cotton? Think about it seriously and you will wonder as to how silently the government of India is actually crippling the Nation to kill its citizen with various dangerous diseases, so that the Medical, Pharma and Insurance industries can all suck the last drop of blood and the hard earned money of the mass... that we all earn, to spend on our treatments buying medicines, going for chemotherapy, high-end medical investigations, treatments and insure our lives.... all these at what cost?

Don’t get shock, because a recent article on pulses made me to think about this deadly dangerous plan of the government. I wonder, why I had never thought about such a dangerous move of the government of India. I am sure many like me must have never thought about the dangers of GMOs in our country. Many of us may not know that, our nation is the largest importer of pulses (inspite of being the largest producer in the world) in the world and these extra pulses come from countries like Myanmar (Burma), Canada, USA, Australia, China, Kenya, Tanzania... where the killer GMOs are grown in their industrial farming. So whether we grow GMOs or not, we are actually consuming GMOs foodgrains and many other things in vegatables, fruits, sugar and spices... without actually being aware of the dangers of GMOs on our health.

In America many leading activists against GMOs are insisting the government to label GMOs’ products & foodgrains... so that people should know what they are consuming... awareness against deadly GMOs are increasing day-by-day all across the globe. New Zealand is the only country in the world, which doesn’t grow GMOs... but I wonder what about all the imports from the West and other countries??? So even New Zealanders are as vulnerable as we Indians are... of the deadly dangerous GMOs.

My Mamman, who adopted me as her son, succumbed to Cancer five years ago in Secunderabad... now I can relate to how she must have got those deadly Cancerous cells in her body.... like my Mamman, there are numerous ladies and gentlemen who have succumbed to Cancer in the nation and have been afflicted with various other diseases that are results of consuming GMOs, which are imported in bulk from various countries. The Government of India is surely to be blamed for allowing the silent killer through imports of foodgrains, fruits, spices and vegetables from the Western countries and other parts of the world, who are growing GMOs and exporting them to the third world and developing nations.

No wonder, in the past two decades, the medical, pharma and insurance industries in the nation, have grown in leaps and bounds. There are more multi-speciality hospitals now in every nook and corner, the pharma industry has been booming and so also the inusrance industry... and the government of the nation has helped all these industries to grow at the expense of common man... his hard earned money goes down the drain in either spending a major chunk in medical treatment or inusre lives all the while consuming GMOs without really knowing about it.

While all the Organic produce in the nation is being exported by the nation for the Western countries to enjoy healthy foodgrains, spices, fruits and vegetables... our government is importing killer GMOs... whether it is Sugar, Maize, Pulses, Fruits or else Vegetables... all that is imported are GMOs grown in various Western Countries and others... where GMOs are grown in their Industrial Farms. And imagine with the FDI in retail being opened by the corrupt Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, all the dangerous killer GMOs products will find fancy shelves in various Supermarkets in glossy packages to lure the Indians... who are crazy for anything imported.

The Government of India should label all the imported foodgrains, vegetables, fruits and spices... so that people of India can avoid consuming GMOs and opt for safe Indian grown produce... to safeguard one’s health and precious hard-earned money. Yes, there is GMOs in your kitchen and diet too... and you may inflict Cancerous Cells of other deadly virus that will harm your immune system to suffer... all because our Government did not care to protect our own countrymen while feeding the best healthy Organic Produce to the foreigners... The real irony is... who cares?

Occupy goes after Monsanto, GMOs

Yesterday a dozen activists calling themselves the Genetic Crimes Unit (GCU) shut down shipping and receiving access points at Monsanto’s Oxnard, California seed distribution center. Although nine members of the group were arrested in the non-violent protest, the protesters effectively shut down the distribution of genetically engineered (GMO) seeds for a day.

The group blocked all three shipping and receiving entrances to the Monsanto facility, using flashy theatrics including a car with a giant “fish-corn” on top of it and a 6-foot high jail cell holding an individual dressed as Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant.

Monsanto is the largest producer of GMO seeds and is being called out for their genetic crimes by a network called Occupy Monsanto. Wednesday’s protest, according to a statement released by the group, is the beginning of a series of over 65 different autonomous actions that officially start on September 17, commemorating the anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Supporters of Proposition 37, led by Women of Occupy San Diego, have announced a rally and demonstration in support of the initiative, which would require that labeling of foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMO’s). The group will meet up at the offices of Canvass for a Cause, located at 3705 10th Avenue, at 4 pm on Monday, September 17th.

Speakers will include the San Diego/Imperial Labor Council’s Lorena Gonzales, professor Norrie Robbins and poet Jeeni Criscenzo del Rio.  The women’s Occupella group will also perform. Starting at 5 pm, the group intendeds to line the overpass bridge on Robinson Avenue in Hillcrest overlooking State Route 163 to display signs and banners visible to rush hour traffic headed through Balboa Park.

Actions are planned throughout the world including the US, Germany, Canada, India, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Argentina, Australia, Spain, Russia, and Japan. More information about the group and their plans can be found at http://Occupy-Monsanto.com

The Occupy Monsanto group is not affiliated with “Yes on 37,” the group urging voters to pass the measure.

SIKKIM AIMS TO BECOME 'FULLY ORGANIC' BY 2015

Eco-friendly cabbage being sown in Sikkim, which intends to become fully-organic state by 2015

Gangtok: Sikkim, which started eco-friendly farming from a small area of land about a decade ago, is set to become a fully organic state by 2015, a senior state official has said.

“The entire state will be converted into a certified organic state by 2015. Our schemes and policies are well tuned to realise that goal,” Sikkim Agriculture Secretary Vishal Chauhan told IANS here.

According to him, structured organic farming started in the state in 2003 when the government set up the dedicated Sikkim State Organic Board to promote farm techniques that prohibit the use of manufactured synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

“Our Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling, had also introduced a resolution in the assembly seeking to convert entire farming in the state to organic. Now, our farming relies on techniques such as green manure, compost, biological pest control and crop rotation.”

Organic rice being grown in Sikkim. The state intends to become fully-organic by 2015.

Organic Rice...

Over 8,000 hectares of land was covered under organic farming between 2003 to 2009. In a bid to make the state fully organic, various state government agencies have been working in coordination.

The state government has completely stopped lifting of quota of chemical fertilizers extended by the Government of India since 2006-07 and all sales points for chemical fertilizers in public and private sector have been shut.

Sikkim government has also promoted large-scale use of bio-fertilisers and provides certified manufactured organic manure to farmers as an alternative to their chemical substitutes, Chauhan said.

In order to provide alternatives to farmers, 24,536 rural compost units and 14,487 vermi-compost units were constructed in farmers’ fields till 2009.

The bio-village programme was also adopted in 2003 and around 400 villages were adopted by the state government till 2009 to benefit some 14,000 farmers and 14,000 acres of land in four districts of the state.

“We have also launched the comprehensive ‘Sikkim Organic Mission’ as a nodal agency to implement and monitor the programme in time-bound manner. A state-level apex body with the chief minister as its chair oversees the implementation,” the official said.

“Under the new initiative, the government has set a target to implement fully-organic farming technique by 2015. Organic products sell at a premium, which will benefit over 50,000 families in the state and promote organic agro-tourism.”

According to latest data, Sikkim produces some 80,000 million tonnes of farm products, including 45,890 million tonnes of ginger, 3,510 million tonnes of large cardamom, 2,790 million tonnes of turmeric, 4,100 million tonnes of buckwheat, 3,210 million tonnes of urad daal and 20,110 million tonnes of mandarin oranges.

“Significant portion of these products are already organic.”
