INDIA DOESN'T NEED GM CROPS - PART II

GODOWNS:

The pathetic state of government owned godowns by Food Corporation of India (FCI) is hard to believe. In the last 67 years since the Independence, none of the Prime Minister except Lal Bahadur Shastri, have bothered about the farmers’ hard selfless devotion to feed the nation year after year, generation after generation with their blood and sweat… working in hot summer, heavy rains and chilly winters, often giving away their lives and their families. While the farmers produce enough food grains for the citizen, the politicians have not bothered to support the farmers by building enough godowns for the nation to safeguard the food grains.

FCI Open-air Storage...

Barely 20 % of the total food grains produced in the nation are stored in closed godowns and the rest 80 % are stored in Open-Air storage areas by the FCI. Any fool will say – Build enough godowns to save the excess grains, so there will be no shortage even in the worst of worse times. Tell me how difficult it is for the Government of India to build enough godowns at war footing? The PM talks and claims that India is a fast economic growth in the country… honestly, with 58,000 Billion worth of food grains being allowed to rot every year, the nation is in fact, the worst than any third world countries. In the last TEN years, the Manmohan Singh government has not even bothered to build sophisticated godowns in the nation.

58,000 Crores worth of food grains rot every year because of callous approach of the GOVT

SILOS:

KORKU, a small uneducated tribal of Melghat in Amravati district of Maharastra is much more progressive in nature than the Government of India having top bureaucrats with highest education backing their credentials. The Korku tribesmen are marginal farmers and live mostly by tapping various natural resources to feed their big families. Even though their possession in their hut reflects their poor condition of living, what is amazing is that 90 % of the villagers have huge custom made SILOS in their huts, thereby protecting their precious home grown food grains from rodents and wastage.

90 % of the Houses in Tribal Villages of Melghat have two custom made SILOS...

I have interacted and lived with the Korku tribesmen in their villages in Melghat and made a note that if these tribesmen are hired by the government, they can build SILOS for the nation and protect all the wastage of food grains in the nation using their ancient effective knowledge to safeguard food grains from rodents and moisture. Please read in the link given below:

PUT THE FULL STOP TO HOARDERS:

Corrupt governance is the hallmark of Indian politicians. While the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi talk to curb corruption, what is needed is the implementation of a strict law to put the full stop on hoarding food grains and essential food items. The intent of the government should show to the citizen that they mean serious business by acting serious and tough. If the government is strict in implementing such a law, none of the hoarders would dare to hoard stocks to create artificial shortage. This simple solution is so easy to implement by the nation’s ruling government… but the government always love to complicate situation and crisis to such magnitude that everyone forgets what the simple real problem was. In spite of Indian farmers producing record breaking food grains each year, there is always a shortage of food grains and because of these hoarders, prices of essential grains have skyrocketed to a new high. WHY? Is that so complicated to understand such a simple modus operandi of the power of the greed?

PUT THE FULL STOP TO MEDIA SPECULATION:

Most of the Politicians and Big Corporations of the nation own most of the Media Houses and Television News Channels. They all indulge in speculating serious issues every now and then to create panic among the business community and common man. How difficult it is to implement a strict law to all the media houses and TV News Channels that speculation of any kind regarding issues related to food grains will be dealt with serious effective consequences. The Government of Nation has to put the full stop of all media speculation to protect and farmers of the nation and the citizen… after all, a government is elected to benefit the citizen of the nation and not to keep killing innocents with their policy making. Media Speculation is a very serious issue that the government needs to tackle first to benefit one and all.

PUT THE FULL STOP TO TRADERS’ LOBBY / MIDDLEMEN:

What a pity and ironical it is! It is not the farmers who earn the most from their hard work in growing food for the nation but, it is the traders’ lobby and middlemen, who make the most with their killer and greedy instinct by exploiting the helpless farmers. The traders’ lobby and the middlemen have to be stopped to help the farmers grow to earn most from their hard work. Farmers are the only manufacturer in the world, who are not allowed to put a “Sale Price” for their produce or products, unlike all the other manufacturers. Until and unless the farmers’ community is stopped from the exploitation by the middlemen and traders’ lobby, not even a single government in the world can ever protect the rise in prices of the essential food grains.

BUT, the BIG QUESTION is:

Is the GOVERNMENT really keen to put a full stop to HUNGER, POVERTY and wastage of food grains?

Certainly, GM Crops are not the right solution to meet the challenges ahead to feed the growing population but these simple effective steps.

INDIA DOESN'T NEED GM CROPS

AGRICULTURE MINISTER FIRST STOP THE ROTTING OF GRAINS,

INDIA WILL HAVE SURPLUS FOOD GRAINS WORTH RS. 58,000 CRORE

EVERY YEAR: GM CROPS IS NOT THE SOLUTION

With the Supreme Court constituted TEC’s final report submitted against further trials and cultivation of GM Crops, the Agriculture Minister’s stance that ‘it is sad that GM Crops is not allowed for trial cultivation in India’, reflects that the evil MONSANTO has either bought the minister concerned or else has given him a huge kickbacks to talk in favour of GM Crops.

India surely doesn’t need GM Crops as suggested by the Agriculture Minister to meet the requirements to feed the 1.2 Billion citizen. What India requires and must do is to save the rotting of food grains worth 58,000 Crores wastage every year, as stated about the rotten grains by the Agriculture Minister himself in the Parliament. It is indeed a huge amount of food grains that is being allowed to rot in the open-air FCI Godowns on “Planned Purpose” to benefit the kith and kin of various politicians (Congress, NCP, BJP and others) for their liquor distilleries.
When the Supreme Court ordered the Agriculture Minister and the Prime Minister to distribute free the excess grains rather than allow, both were adamant and said the SC should not interfere in Policy Making of the Government. How callous can one be, when one is in power!!! The Agriculture cited in 2010 to the SC that it cannot distribute food grains free to the poor because the government is buying them @ Rs. 15 /- a Kg…. However, what the Agriculture Ministry did after the food grains were rotten is that they sold the same rotten grains @ Rs. 0.60 /- a kg to Politicians’ Liquor Distilleries. So the Government made a loss of Rs. 14.40 /- per Kg. Loss to the nation… for which neither the Prime Minister nor the Agriculture Minister are accountable!

Such is the magnitude of the Food Grains Rotting SCAM under Manmohan Singh’s governance!

NEVER A SIMPLE SOLUTION:

I am very sure that either the Agriculture Minister doesn’t know anything about MONSANTO and other GMOs manufacturers… or else, he must have been bought by these greedy evil corporations to kill more citizen of the world by inflicting deadly incurable diseases like Cancer, Nervous Disorders, Kidney Failures – to name just a few. The Agriculture Minister should read about the deadliness of GMOs through this link:

Never! There is never a Simple Solution to contain the crisis or problems. In fact, the System (Government) creates such complications that one forgets what the real problems was? Instead of making all efforts to safeguard the excess food grains the farmers of the nation produce with their blood and sweat, it is indeed shameful that the minister concerned in backing introduction of field trials of more GM Crops.

I had written about a simple solution in my blog to safeguard the food grains to rot by involving the poor Korku Tribesmen of Melghat to build traditional Silos… The decision to act would have helped the poor tribal villagers with occupation to earn some money while creating the largest contemporary food storage facilities for the nation to benefit at large. The Nation would not only safe food grains worth 58,000 Billion but also the citizen will benefit at large with low prices of food grains. How difficult is such a simple step to implement?

INDIA DOESN’T NEED GM CROPS:

India doesn’t need GM Crops because the majority of farmers are marginal farmers in the nation. And everyone in the world should know the fact that 85 % of the food grains produced in the World are being produced by the Marginal Farmers of the World and not by the Industrial Farming Corporations. The World should also know that as per the UNO’s reported statement: There are 7 Billion Population in the World, out of which 1 Billion people lives in Hunger and the food grains produced by the World can feed 11.5 Billion people. So tell me, is there really a shortage of food grains in the reality? In fact, every year, the World can feed another 4.5 Billion people each year… but we all are still clueless as to what really happens to all the excess food grains the Farmers of the World produce? Where does it vanish? But obviously, common sense says… they are allowed to rot to end up in the Liquor Industries of the World, owned majorly by Politicians of the World!

GMOs is surely not the solution to meet the hunger of the world. Traditional Farming, i.e. Organic Farming is the only way where the World can feed the World with healthy and abundant food grains, which will check all the artificial created diseases by the Scientific Evil Discoveries and greed of the Evil Corporations like MONSANTO, DOW etc. While the World is switching back to Organic Farming, our Agriculture wants to destroy all the fertile lands by Chemical Farming. The Bt Cotton production has already reached its saturation and farmers in the nation are losing productivity per acreage because of heavy use of chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer… and these chemicals have taken a toll on the ground water table… Punjab & Haryana is a good example and so is the Vidarbha belt in Maharastra and even the Gujarat belt growing Bt.
